RE: Onan 7500 will not start

Try holding the button longer. It has glow plugs an they can take some minutes to heat up before it will try to start now that your temps are dropping. The clicking is probably the fuel pump.

RE: Scanning negatives and slides into digital format?

My dad was an amatuer photographer and took thousands of pictures during the 40's thru 60's. I got possesion of them when he passed. There were thousands of slides and hundreds and hundreds of negatives.
I bought a Dimage Scanner (the $20 was a steal) and began scanning. Time consuming but the quality is amazing. Equal to a 12MP camera at least. Terrific colors. You can buy them on Ebay and recoup most if not all of your money by reselling it when you are done.
In my case, paying someone would have been prohibitive as there were so many images.

RE: Please suggest a red wine.

Woodbridge is'nt too bad for an inexpensive wine. Cab. A secret to improving a red wine is to pour it into the glass and let it sit for 10 minutes or so before drinking. Or use a decanter that has a lot of surface area to let the wine breath. The esters need to vulcanize.

RE: Blowout on Dingy - Has anyone had one?

Not me but a friend lost a rear tire on his Element and never knew it. Someone finally waved him over. He said he never felt a thing. Ruined the the rim. Honda had to fly in a new rim so he lost 3-4 days. He bought one of the tire monitor systems after that.

RE: Give me your best storage/organization tips

My tips, which I learned here, was to keep all my recreational stuff eg chairs, tables, grills, etc on the passenger side where you use it. Keep all your tools, hoses, ext cords, etc on the drivers side.
Make some custom shelves here and there for sat dishes, tripods, small stuff, so that the bottom of your storage bellies aren't full while the top half is empty.
Buy some clear storage boxes/drawers at Walmart BUT also buy a decent lable maker and make lables on the outside of whats inside. This is important!! So do it. Wondering where the male to male coax adapters are? NO MORE!!

RE: Travel with a hyper dog ??

I am of the opinion that nearly all dog behavior issues can be resolved by more excercise. Either fast walks, jogging if you can or even a bike rig. 45 minutes of retrieving. Something. Anything.
Also try 3-4 drops of Bach's Rescue Remedy available at most health food stores.
And/or 2-4 benydryl. Harmless and calming.
Conditioning might help. Take some naps or spend some playtime (with treats) in the RV before trips so the dog associates good times with the RV.

RE: Why aren't Canadians having a crisis?

Of corse Canada don't have a problem....
They sent Mike Moore to the US.....JMO.....Now my post will be deleated.
Michael Moore is a US citizen, born in Davison Michigan, not far from you.
Variable rate, low-down payment loans to unqualified buyers are only a small part of the present mortgage crisis. Packaging mortgages into speculative money vehicles and deregulation of Wall Street is the big culprit. Easy money fueled a huge real estate boom which artifically drove up prices. People that were completely qualified and put 20%-30% down on houses in the 2004-2006 time frame mostly got fried when the housing market bubble burst. Their house is now worth a LOT less than they owe on it so many are walking away when they have to move or lose their job. No incentive to work through it.

RE: Tow Vehicle vs tow dolly

CONGRATS, we are going to tow with a dolly for the reasons of setup of a new vehical is nill with FWD, cost is cheap, can use it behind my truck if I ever need to, did I say cheap (1500 new) compared to 3500 properly set up 4 down modding the vehical myself and you MOD your vehical drilling holes and cutting fascia's is not what I want to do to the wifes minivan
Granted, if your vehicle can't be flat towed without a trans pump, etc it costs more. But for our Honda CRV, it was $325 for a baseplate and $700 for a Ready Brute self-locking tow bar with built-in surge brakes. Another $40 for lights. A little over $1K and only $300 or so to change vehicles. Baseplate mounted in two hours with two holes drilled.

RE: Tow Vehicle vs tow dolly

Congratulations!! I can't even win a 2005 motorhome.
I have done both and it would take extreme circumstances to make me go back to a dolly. Loading in the rain was a real PITA. Car tires spinning and the car almost overshooting the dolly, which happens all the time. Some places you have to unhook when you get there so you have to drop the car, unhook the dolly, push it somewhere, then reverse the process the next AM. With four down; two minutes to disconnect and the wifey drives the car to the site. I can hook up in a few minutes.
The dolly is wider than the toad and will hit gas pumps, curbs etc. Four down toad tracks inside the turning radius of the RV. Extra tires and bearings to fail and worry about.

RE: Classic 440 towing a Classic bronco

Ambitious project.
You sure you don't want to start with a later model coach with EFI, better brakes and readily available parts? The EFI will give you so much more MPG and power in the higher altitudes.
Do you have disc brakes on the Dodge?
You will have enough power but I agree the challenge is going down hills with the Bronco pushing. Good toad brakes are a must.
Good luck.

Mine went off this weekend about 7:00AM. Would not reset. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it has been fine. I suspect a dog sleeping nearby. If it does it again, I'll replace it.

RE: College football - week 6

I haven't given up.
But we better get better quick.
We have so many lineman injured they're taking redshirts off and moving defensive left guards to offensive right guards and when that starts happening you start getting the flurries of yellow flags that happened against Ark.
Besides, Florida is really an academically-elite basketball school; we just have a football team to keep the alumni happy. ;)

RE: Roof on Bounder

I think TPO is inferior to fibreglas although some of the fibreglas roofs of the past were pretty poor. Winnebago had some problems with them blowing off and separating at the seams. TPO is tough stuff. The Navy uses it on ships. Stands up to UV very well but it will tear and puncture.

LSU has to play Bama, Georgia and Florida. If they win those, then they have to play in the SEC Championship game against Vandy or Kentucky probably. SOB!

RE: Roof on Bounder

I have a 2005 Expedition. To the best of my knowledge it is a TPO roof. Much better than a rubber (EPDM) roof but it has some of the same negatives when damaged. It is bonded to the underlayment so if the plywood is damaged the whole roof may need to be replaced. Small patches are possible.
You need to find a place that is comfortable with whole roof replacement. Start with the factory, get names of good Fleetwood dealers in your area and go from there. The question to ask is "Are you proficient with TPO roof repairs including total roof replacement?"
Any dealer that hems or haws and walk away.
My uncle dragged a tree limb across his and made a 15 ft gash. Insurance paid $10K for a new roof including new plywood. Good or better than new.
